For may years I had Sympatico High speed internet, but now I am on a slow dial up service. Because of this, posting to this blog in very time consuming for me. I have transferred ride reports and discussions etc to Facebook, which it seems everyone is on.

Posting on Facebook is a lot faster for me.

Art De La Rue Ride

This month the intended destination of the September Critical Mass was Dufferin & Queen W where the Art De La Roo art ride was to start at 8:00pm. After riding downtown including the new bike lanes on Sherbourne from Bloor to Gerrard, we were off to meet up with the De La Roo crowd. Arriving at Dufferin & Queen there were about dozen riders waiting there. We were joined by Clive and Tom S. Mitch decided to head for home instead of doing the back alley art ride and we agreed.

Me, Kate, Tom S, Mitch, Elizabeth and Alex headed out on Queen street to Yonge and home. The ride itself was not what we expected and I doubt we will do it next year!

Friday 13th Night Ride

Starting at Dundas Square at 930 pm we had a schmooze and show of our bikes till 11pm, then we were off north on Yonge to cruise Yorkville on both Cumberland and Yorkville Ave. Then onto Bloor and west to the Brunswick House where there was such a lineup to get onto the patio we decided to check out the Amsterdam Cafe on College. They had a 3/4 hour wait for tables so we headed east to Kensington Market. After losing a couple of riders at Augusta & College (they stopped at the 7/11 for slurpees) we finally found them and got to a portugese restaraunt on Augusta by the parkette, to end the ride with cold ones!

This ride was sponsored by the Custom Cycle Society of Toronto.
12 riders, 10km.

As an aside, the Friday The 13th big motorcycle ride to Port Dover attracted over 200,000 riders this year because of the fantastic weather!

We had a blast and can't wait for next years ride!

Toronto Zombie Walk & Zombie Cruise

The 2012 Toronto Zombie Walk is on Saturday, October 20th. The walk will start at Nathan Phillips Square at 3pm, but be sure to get there early....the TZW will have vendors this year! They’re back, they’re hungry and they’re not staying 6 feet under any longer!

Last year nearly 7000 corpses writhed, weaved and lurched their way through the streets of Toronto feasting on those unlucky enough to be living.

On October 20th the dead will rise again for the 10th annual Toronto Zombie Walk!! After the walk the Custom Cycle Society of Toronto will host a show 'n tell at the Scare and Zombie Cruise by bike through Deadtown Toronto!
