My 2008 Sun Atlas Cruiser

I bought the base model of the Sun Atlas Cruiser in May of 2008 at Urbane Cyclist (my favourite bike shop in Toronto) [ I used to work there]; one of the first Worker's Co-op bike shops in Ontario. After a test ride I knew that it had to be customized or upgraded. First the tires, I put on Schwalbe Marathons and changed the rims to accept heavier duty spokes to support my weight (I'm about 285 lbs). I added a Nexus, 4 speed rear hub and changed the crank gear to a bmx on the front. Since the original bike was a one speed with coaster brake, I added a roller brake and hand control. Front basket, lights and new aluminum pedals round out the conversion. I also removed the black stickers to give the bike a cleaner look. As of today I now have 356 km on the odometer. Not bad for me considering I underwent quad bypass heart surgery in March of 2008.
